RClamp0822B is a two-line transient voltage suppressor from Semtech that safeguards high-speed data interfaces in a broad range of applications. The part protects sensitive components from harmful overvoltage caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD), cable discharge events (CDE), and electrical fast transients (EFT).
This latest member of Semtech’s RailClamp family of low-capacitance transient voltage suppressors presents a loading capacitance of just 0.7 pF typical. The RClamp0822B offers transient protection from ESD strikes of ±30 kV (contact) and ±30 kV (air) per IEC 61000-4-2; EFT events of 40 A (5/50 ns) per IEC 61000-4-4; and lightning strikes of 7 A (8/20 µs) per IEC 61000-4-5. It also has an operating voltage of 8 V, as well as low clamping voltages.
Housed in a small 3-lead SC-75 (SOT-523) package, the RClamp0822B integrates a pair of diodes for protecting two data or I/O lines. The component operates over a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, and it is Pb-free and RoHS/WEEE compliant.
The RClamp0822B transient voltage suppressor is available immediately in production quantities.
