ST’s ILPS28QSW MEMS water/liquid-proof absolute pressure sensor is backed by a 10-year longevity program to protect customers’ industrial IoT designs. The sensor functions as a digital output barometer, providing user-selectable full-scale ranges of 260 hPa to 1260 hPa and 260 hPa to 4060 hPa. Measurement accuracy is to within 0.5 hPa.
Housed in a sealed ceramic LGA package, the ILPS28QSW has an ingress protection rating of IP58 to withstand immersion in over 1 meter of water, certified according to IEC 60529 and ISO 20653 standards. Further, the device can sustain up to 10-bar over-pressure. It operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +105°C and offers an embedded Qvar channel for detecting electric charge variations.
Used in gas and water metering equipment, weather monitors, air-conditioning smart filters, and home appliances, the ILPS28QSW integrates digital features that aid system design and management. These include temperature compensation, FIFO memory, and an I2C or MIPI-I3C communication interface. In addition, the output data rate is selectable from 1 Hz to 200 Hz.
